Schlaraffia in Pattaya – Ein Reych mit Geschichte
Der Castrum Siamesiae ist Teil der weltweiten Schlaraffia-Gemeinschaft – einer Vereinigung von Männern, die sich der Pflege von Humor, Freundschaft und Kunst verschrieben haben. Als Reych Nummer 383 sind wir eingebettet in ein globales Netzwerk von über 200 Reychen auf allen Kontinenten.
Bei uns treffen sich regelmäßig Männer aus Pattaya und Umgebung zu unseren Sippungen – Abenden voller Humor, Kunst und echter Kameradschaft. Berufsstand, Titel und Alltagsstress bleiben draußen. Drinnen zählt nur: der Mensch, sein Witz, sein Talent und seine Herzlichkeit.
🦉 Wussten Sie schon? Der Begriff Reych ist die schlaraffische Bezeichnung für den lokalen Verein. Jedes Reych hat einen eigenen Namen, ein eigenes Wappen und eine eigene Geschichte – verbunden durch das gemeinsame Schlaraffenspiel.
Our community
Was unsere Mitglieder verbindet, ist nicht der Beruf oder die Herkunft – sondern die gemeinsame Freude am Spiel. Bei uns sind alle interessierten Männer gleichermaßen willkommen. Ob man zusammen passt, zeigt dann die Zeit.
Gäste sind bei uns herzlich willkommen – ohne Voranmeldung außer zu besonderen Terminen, oder jederzeit nach kurzer Absprache. Ein Besuch verpflichtet zu nichts und kostet nichts.
Castrum Siamesiae is the only Schlaraffen chapter in Asia. We meet in Pattaya — at the Sawasdeeburg in Restaurant Vespresso — and are here for German-speaking men throughout Thailand: for residents in Pattaya, Bangkok and the Isaan just as much as for guests who are in the country for only a few days.
A German-speaking club — but not like the others
Anyone living in Thailand knows the feeling: you quickly find company, but rarely a circle where language, wit and culture come together as well. That is exactly what we offer. With us, profession, title and everyday stress stay outside. Inside, what counts is the person, his humour and what he brings along — a poem, a song, an anecdote, or simply an attentive ear.
We are neither a regulars' table nor a business network. We are a community that has cultivated the same things in Thailand for over fifty years: friendship, art and humour.
Meeting people — without obligation
An evening at one of our meetings is the easiest way to get to know us. You come as a guest, sit at the table, experience the game and then decide at your leisure whether you would like to return. A visit costs nothing and commits you to nothing — not even after the third time.
New to Thailand? Then you are especially welcome. Many of our members arrived here without knowing a soul. And if you bring friends who speak no German: that works too. With us the language is picked up playfully and without pressure.
Free time in Pattaya — with substance
Between the beach, the golf course and the restaurant, many people miss something that occupies the mind. We have it: talks, music, wordplay and a role play in medieval garb that turns every evening into a small event. Three minutes of contribution, thunderous applause — nothing more is asked, and even that is voluntary.
We meet twice a month, in some months three times — always on Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. Anyone who comes regularly soon feels they have a second home in Thailand.
Did you know?
Reych is the Schlaraffen term for the local chapter — each one has its own name, coat of arms and history. Our gatherings are called Sippungen, our meeting place is the Burg, and a visit to another chapter is an Einritt. Worldwide there are more than 250 chapters on five continents — and once you belong, you are received like an old friend everywhere.
